13 New Cardinals -- The Third Cardinal Consistory by Pope Francis -- Third World Church

(New York) On November 19, the third ordinary public consistory of this pontificate will take place for the creation of new cardinals. The message has not been officially announced by the Holy See, but comes from the progressive American Jesuit magazine America .
Pope Francis has convened the consistory for the conclusion of the Holy Year of Mercy. Total wants the Pope, the Jesuit magazine, appoint thirteen new cardinals. The names will be announced in mid-October.
Previously Francis has appointed  39 Cardinals altogether at two consistories. 31 of them are entitled to vote in the conclave. Eight of new cardinals will be 80 at the time of their appointment.
According to America  it will fall to the Pope in the third Cardinal consistory to move the church "from the center to the periphery." An absolute majority of European cardinals will be "impossible" at the next conclave.
Currently there are 107 Cardinals in the Catholic Church  who could act as papal electors in  conclave. With the new appointments Francis will fill the electoral body to the ceiling established by  John Paul II of 120 electors. 51 of the 107 electors come from Europe, which has, for a thousand years in the conclave and in for the first time ever in Church history to relinquish its absolute majority in the election of the Pope  and humanly speaking, will never recover.
On November 20, the Pope will celebrate High Mass together with the new cardinals in St. Peter's.

Tomorrow the Cardinal Consistory on Curial Reform -- On Saturday Francis Creates 20 New Cardinals

Consistory Where Pope Benedict Announced His
Resignation
(Vatican) On Thursday and Friday, the Vatican is having an ordinary consistory of the College of Cardinals, which Pope Francis has convened. The cardinals should in this case are informed by the previously laid plans for reform of the Curia, which was developed by the Council of Cardinal Advisers C9. This was announced by Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi.

In C9 Council there are just as many reform plans as members. It is generally believed that the reforms will be modest. The Roman Congregations are not, or hardly, to be touched. The number of the Pontifical Councils should be reduced by mergers. Completely unspectacular shifts are expected, with some melodious renaming of existing facilities. In short, it’s what every government is doing after elections. Ministries are regrouped, renamed, new placards are mounted on entranceways and paper is printed with new letterheads.

Number of Pontifical Councils Should be Reduced

"Reducing the cardinals of the Curia is neither bad nor good. Kasper was Curial, Baldisseri is still,” wrote the most famous Catholic blogger of Spain, Francisco Fernández de la Cigoña.

Bishop Marcello Semeraro of Albano, the secretary of the C9 Cardinal Council is to explain to the assembled Consistory the state of reform plans (see Church and Society of Pius X, confidant of Pope threatened excommunication of faithful) Most recently, the C9 Council plans to tap the Irishman, Msgr. Paul Tighe, secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, to think of a better organization of the media of the Holy See. Last Monday there was also a meeting with Cardinal Ravasi, President of the Pontifical Council for Culture, held in conjunction with the reform plans.

 "Exotic" Cardinals and Rauber’s Reward

On Saturday, February 14, an extraordinary consistory will follow at which Pope Francis will name 20 new Cardinals (see New Cardinals, Unknown Names and Old Europe ). Among them are a number of unknown names from exotic countries. As "exotic whims” of the Pope in the Vatican are also valid in appointments like those of the Bishop of Lampedusa. Among the new cardinals, albeit for reasons of age are no longer eligible to be papal electors, among whom is the former German Vatican diplomat Karl-Joseph Rauber.

The progressivist Titular Archbishop of Iubaltiana attempted as Apostolic Nuncio 1989/1990 to prevent the appointment of Wolfgang Haas as Bishop of Chur and contributed to his removal from Chur. To express disapproval of the Swiss resistance against Bishop Haas, Pope John Paul II. made Haas, the first Archbishop of Archdiocese of Liechtenstein in 1997. Rauber was appointed in the same year as nuncio to Hungary. In 2009 Rauber tried as Apostolic Nuncio to Belgium to prevent the appointment of Bishop Andre-Joseph Leonard of Namur as Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels. Rauber failed as Pope Benedict XVI. made Leonard archbishop and compelled Rauber to retire.

In parts of the church Rauber’s promotion to Cardinal by Pope Francis is evaluated as a reward for his controversial and hostile approach to faithful bishops. His advocate for the dignity of Cardinal was Cardinal Danneels, Leonard’s predecessor as Archbishop of Brussels. The Progressive [Can we just call him evil?] Danneels felt the appointment of Leonard as his successor as a personal slap in the face. The Cardinal appointment of Rauber is now seen as a slap in the face for Archbishop Leonard, who is excluded from the second Consistory, since Danneels has reached the age of 80, at the Cardinal Consistory. Danneels is part of the four-member team Bergoglio organized largely upon his election as Pope Francis. The Raubers elevation at the Consistory is seen as a thank you gesture by the Pope for Danneels.

On Sunday, he will celebrate Holy Mass with the new cardinals in the Vatican Basilica.

Pope Francis Will Name New Cardinals in February 2015 --- Will Family Be a Theme?

For the Second Time in His Pontificate, Francis
Will Name New Cardinals
(Vatican) Pope Francis is going to convene a new Extraordinary Consistory of Cardinals for   the 14th-15th February 2015. As Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi SJ announced, it shall be convened because Pope Francis will appoint new cardinals.
Immediately before the extraordinary consistory the C9 Council of Cardinal Advisors will meet from 9th-11th in February, and from the 12th-13th of February  the Cardinal Consistory will confer on the reorganization of the Roman Curia. In the ordinary consistory in 2014 Cardinal Walter Kasper made his speech about the "New Mercy" which was the official start of the current intra-Church conflicts around Marriage and Sacrament.
Currently, there are 112 papal electors. . By the end of February next year their number will be reduced to 110. A few days later, the Egyptian Cardinal Antonios Naguib will reach 80 years of age. Francis could thus create at least eleven new cardinals  who have not yet reached the age of 80.

Will Consistory Discuss The Family Again?

The C9 Council of Cardinal Advisers will summarize the work on the reform of the Curia and submit their report directly following the ordinary consistory. According to Vatican spokesman Lombardi, it is also likely  that February will bringany decisions regarding the reform of the Curia. Pope Francis concluded this in an interview with the daily newspaper La Nacion for the whole of 2015. Whether the ordinary consistory will discuss again, and address the Annual Synod of Bishops in October 2015 on the family is not known
It will be the second Cardinal survey of this pontificate. On February 22, 2014, Pope Francis  will create19 new cardinals, 16 of which are potential electors. Among them is  Benedict XVI's  appointed CDF, Gerhard Müller, and Prefect of Clergy, Beniamino Stella and Synod Secretary Lorenzo Baldisseri, both of whom were appointed by Pope Francis.

The New Cardinals: Whom Pope Francis Desired, Whom Not

(Vatican) At the end of the Sunday Angelus, Pope Francis announced the names of the new cardinals earlier than expected, that on 22 February he will raise cardinals during his first extraordinary conistoriums of  his pontificate. There will be 19 new cardinals, 16 of which will be eligible to vote in a conclave and thus are under 80 . What can be read out of the appointments? In which direction is the  Argentine Pope aiming?

No More "Automatic" Cardinals

The appointments follow largely what Katholisches.info had already predicted (see separate report , The New Cardinals by Pope Francis - Essay on  Topography ). The list of newly appointed cardinals shows that Pope Francis does not intend to observe the Archbishop seats  that are connected from ancient times to the dignity of Cardinal. At least not those of the so-called First World. The Pope makes his decisions as he wants, as as an autocratic ruler. So in engaging the Petrine ministry he shall serve it more extensively than his predecessors, especially Pope Benedict XVI. The certainty with which the  archbishops had previously automatically counted on the dignity of cardinal, no longer exists. This will affect especially Italy, the USA and Belgium this time. Among those unrecognized is the Archbishop of Turin, Monsignor Cesare Nosiglia. Italy will no longer have in future eight resident cardinals   in the conclave. This does not mean that it might not happen to the archbishop of Lyon, Vienna, Munich or Barcelona tomorrow.

South Axis

Second, the pope is moving the axis in the direction of the church senate to the southern hemisphere. He has taken the first step,   should he maintain the cut, the next conclave will be much of Latin America, Africa and Asia. Those not  considered  included the Eastern Churches united with Rome, especially the martyred churches of the Middle East, but also the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

Direction of decision: for the  Ratzingerianer Sanctioned Moraglia (Venice) and Leonard (Brussels)

Third,  the first appointment round shows a directional decision. Pope Francis is continuing his distance towards the understanding of the Church Benedict XVI.. What the German theologian Pope accomplished against fierce opposition, the renewal of the Catholic Church by returning to the essentials, especially in the liturgy, the two thousand years of tradition, and the interpretation of the Second Vatican Council away from decomposing experiments and destructive fractures towards a recovery of the continuity, the new Pope wants to cancel possible. After restructuring the staff  of the Roman Curia, which is still in progress, the Ratzingerianers have also been significantly excluded in the cardinal appointments. This refers to those church leaders who were close in a special way to the predecessor Pope in representing his line. This is especially true for the Patriarch Francesco Moraglia of Venice and Archbishop André-Joseph Léonard of Mechelen-Brussels. Especially in Belgium, where the church is suffering from the sustained bombardment by radical opponents of the Church, and Archbishop Leonard has already had to endure numerous scandalous attacks against his person, including two Femen attacks, this recognition would have been a signal of his  support and assistance in the Cardinal's stand. Pope Francis has since appointed  the less exposed Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster as cardinal, who had been recently reprimanded for the toleration of "homo-Mass" by the Congregation, speaks against Archbishop Leonard not for the fact that he heads a European diocese, but his "conservative" disposition.

The "Protégé" and the Church Policy of Francis

It has already been speculated that the Pope could use the cardinal surveys to also drive Italian church policy, though he had just explained the withdrawal of the Pope from the Catholic Bishops' Conference applied to his program. While traditional seats like the Archbishop of Turin and Venice in particular came up empty-handed, the one because he is Italian, the other because he belongs to the Italians and in the wrong direction, an Italian bishop was raised to cardinal, heading no "cardinalatial" diocese. Archbishop Gualtiero Bassetti of Perugia is Vice-President of the Italian Bishops' Conference for Central Italy and is considered a "protégé" of the Pope. Although Pope Francis suggested to waive his prerogative to appoint the chairman and the secretary of the Italian Episcopal Conference, he appointed recently not only a new secretary, but did it against any practice in complete isolation. He appointed Archbishop Bassetti,  a member of the Congregation for Bishops, and his elevation to the cardinal  state nowadays suggests that he soon wants to replace the current President of the Italian Bishops' Conference  appointed by  Benedict XVI., Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco by Bassetti.
Archbishop Bassetti took part in a 2011 liturgy by the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest in a celebration of Mass in the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite, in which two sisters of the Institute took their  perpetual vows with his blessing. In the same year he celebrated Holy Sacrifice of the Mass itself in the Old Latin in Perugia, where the Franciscans of the Immaculate assisted him at the altar.
The same as in Italy with the affront Patriarch Moraglia and the appointment of Archbishop Massetti happened in the Philippines. Instead appointing  Archbishop Jose S. Palma vo Cebu to  the chief shepherd of the largest Archdiocese and Chairman of the Philippine Bishops' Conference of the Catholic-rich island nation, Pope Francis chose the Pastor of a subordinated Archdiocese, which has never been connected to the dignity of Cardinal.
With Bishop Chibly Langlois from the Caribbean island of Haiti we find a purple bearer who doesn't even possess an archbishopric.

Monsignor Capovilla and the Signal-like Award for the Council

Among the three "personally" appointed cardinals,  priests and theologians  who have already completed their 80th year of life and are no longer eligible to vote in the conclave, falls on mainly to the 98 year old Archbishop Loris Francesco Capovilla, the talkative former personal secretary of Pope John XXIII. Pope Francis had asked him only a month after his election to Rome to meet with him. In addition to the out of protocol canonization of Pope John XXIII. is this another award for the Second Vatican Council? Emeritus Archbishop of Pamplona, Monsignor Fernando Sebastián Aguilar CMF, however, is the Pope's person of trust with regard to the Church in Spain.

The List of New Cardinals

  • Lorenzo Baldisseri, Titular Archbishop Diocletiana, Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops

  • Andrew Yeom Soo Young, Archbishop of Seoul (Korea)

The Pope, not easily forget

As expected,  the French Dominican Jean-Louis Bruguès who had fallen from grace with Pope Francis. The Pope from Argentina has already dismissed him from the Congregation of Education and sent him to the post of Librarian and Archivist of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Father Bruguès had opposed the appointment of Victor Manuel Fernandez as the Rector of the Catholic University of Buenos Aires. But the then  then Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, wanted him to have this post. Fernandez is considered a special faithful companion of the current Pope and his speechwriter. Pope Francis does not forget so easily.

Will Pope Francis Announce the Naming of New Cardinals on September 30th?

(Rome) For the 30th of September, the first ordinary consistory of Pope Francis’ pontificate will be convened. The subject will include the canonization of Pope John XXIII and John Paul II. and the announcement of the exact dates for the canonization will be expected. On this occasion the Pope could also announce the convening of his first extraordinary Consistory for the creation of new cardinals. This is at least what the Spanish Catholic Church Historian and blogger Francisco de la Cigoña says at the suggestion of Vatican sources.

Currently, nine seats are vacant in the College of Cardinals. On the 24th of September, there are ten, on the 19th of October eleven and there will be 12 on the 25th of December. On these days the Cardinals Raffaele Farina (Italy, 2007-2012 archivist and librarian of Holy Roman Church), Geraldo Agnelo (Brazil, 1999-2011 Archbishop of São Salvador da Bahia) and Joachim Meisner (Germany, since 1989 Archbishop of Cologne) will reach their 80th birthday and will cease to be active papal electors. Apart from this, the Pope could also temporarily exceed the number the number of 120 electoral cardinals, should he not be so eager to plan another consistory, or of course to continue expanding number.

On the future of the Cardinals who are in first place, is the recently appointed new Secretary Curia of Pope Francis Archbishop Pietro Parolin and the Prefect of the Congregation, Archbishop Curia Gerhard Ludwig Müller, appointed early July of 2012 by Pope Benedict.

Among the contenders for the Cardinalatial Purple are included, subject to surprises, also Archbishop Mario Aurelio of Buenos Aires, whom Pope Francis appointed after 15 days of his election as his successor in Argentina,. Archbishop Ricardo Ezzati Andrello SDB of Santiago de Chile (was appointed by Benedict XVI in 2010 ). Patriarch Francesco Moraglia of Venice (was appointed by Benedict XVI in 2012); Archbishop Andrew Yeom Soo-jung of Seoul (appointed by Benedict XVI in 2012).

Archbishop Jose Horacio Gomez of Los Angeles (appointed by Benedict XVI in 2011). However, his predecessor, Cardinal Roger Mahony will be in effect until the 27 of February 2016; Archbishop Andre-Joseph Leonard of Mechelen-Brussels (Appointed by Benedict XVI in 2010), who in the last two extraordinary consistories of Benedict XVI. was excluded because his predecessor Cardinal Godfried Danneels only celebrated his 80th birthday on the 4th of June. In accordance with church practice only one member of the College of Cardinals can be the Metropolitan Archbishop of the same district.

Other contenders are Archbishop Vincent Nicholas of Westminister (appointed by Benedict XVI. in 2009); Patriarch Manuel Jose Macario do Nascimento Clemente of Lisbon (appointed by Francis in 2013), but his predecessor Cardinal Jose da Cruz Policarpo reaches his 80th birthday on the 26th of February 2016; OCist Archbishop Orani Tempesta of Rio de Janeiro (appointed by Benedict XVI. in 2009); Cesare Nosiglia, Archbishop of Turin, Cardinal Severino Poletto is his predecessor and reached 80 this on the last 18th of March (appointed by Benedict XVI in 2010.) and he was just still able to attend the conclave.

Other p;ossible contenders for the cardinal's hat are also Archbishop Ignatius Suharyo Hardjoatmadjo from Jakarta (appointed by Benedict XVI. in 2010), although his predecessor Juliua Cardinal Darmaatmadja SJ only reached his 80th birthday on the 20th of December, 2014; Archbishop Charles Joseph Chaput, OFM Cap, again with the caveat that his predecessor, Cardinal Justin Rigali won’t turn 80 until the 19th of April, 2015. (appointed by Benedict XVI in 2011.) leaves the circle of papal electors.

Of the Eastern Churches united with Rome, Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk of Kiev-Halych, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church whose predecessor Ljubomyr Cardinal Husar last considered Cardinal candidate, turned 80 in February, two days before the entry into force of the vacancy and is therefore no longer allowed to participate in the conclave. Likewise, patriarch Ibrahim Isaac Sidrak of Alexandria, head of the Coptic Catholic Church, whose predecessor Cardinal Antonios Naguib, however, resigns only on the 7th of March, 2015 as an active elector.

Consistorium set for 30th of September: Pope to Journey to Assisi

The Pope's calendar is heavy with the Cardinals meeting in the fall, the first meeting of the Commission and Assisi visit - Can't make it to Constantinople -- Canonization of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII. expected in 2014

Vatican City (kath.net / KAP) The next meeting of Cardinals, called the Consistory, is apparently taking place on September 30th in the Vatican. This is clear from the press briefing published by the Vatican Press Office, during his flight last Monday as Pope Francis was returning from World Youth Day in Brazil. At the meeting, the Cardinals will be present in Rome for the Canonization of their approval of Pope John Paul II (1978-2005) and Pope John XXIII (1958-1963) are expected.

As Francis explained in an interview with journalists, he originally wanted to meet the Ecumenical Patriarch, Bartholomew I, at the end of September in Istanbul. However, this was not possible "because of my schedule". On the question of when the canonization of Pope John Paul II was to be expected, Francis then said that once the consistory takes place on September 30th. The canonization would therefore not take place probably this year, because of the foreseeable wintry weather conditions in Poland. At an ordinary consistory, the Cardinals then present in Rome come together to talk about canonization decrees or to accommodate new cardinals in the college. Extraordinary consistory all the cardinals gather in Rome to discuss special needs of the universal Church. At the far end of November 2012 last consistory, Pope Benedict XVI. appointed six new cardinals. At the consistory at the end of September there is a heavy series of important events in Rome. In early October, the Honduran Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga will chair the eight-member Cardinal commission to develop proposals for a reform of the Roman Curia on behalf of the Pope. For the 4th of October, the Pope has announced a trip to Assisi the work place and place of death of the founder and church reformer, Francis.

The New CDF Doesn't Get a Hat at the Consistorium

Edit: wasn't the new CDF supposed to get a hat?  I wouldn't want him voting for my successor either.

Today the Pope announces a new Consistorium for November 24th -- at the feast of Christ the King.

(kreuz.net) At the end of the General Audience Pope Benedict XVI. announced a new Consistorium.

On Saturday, the 24th of November, he will name six new Cardinals:

-  The Prefect of the Papal House, James Micheal Harvey (63) to Archpriest of the Papal Basilica of St. Paul Before the Walls.

At the end of November there will be 120 under eighty years of age, and thus are prepared, to elect the new Pope at the next Conclave.

Vatican Consistory: A Conservative German Jesuit is in Good Health and a Cardinal?

Edit: The government subsidized media personalities like Sylvia Poggioli can barely conceal their venom when they cover these events. There's a lot of talk about the leaks and the apparent power struggle going on beneath the surface.

They don't mention who seems to be winning, however. Take note as to the German Jesuit we told you about a few weeks ago who was supposedly too infirm to be present. As you can see, Father Karl Becker SJ was present, one of the most conservative figures in the Vatican today.

Among the Cardinals is Berlin's Archbishop Rainer Maria Woelki and Cologne's Jesuit Karl Josef Becker.  Canonization of Anna Schäffer.

Vatican City (kath.net/KNA) Pope Benedict XVI has introduced 22 personalities of the Catholic Church into the Cardinal College this Saturday afternoon in St. Peter's Basilica with a Solemn Consistory. Among them is Berlin Archbishop Rainer Maria Woelki (55) and Cologne's Jesuit Karl Josef Becker (83).

In conclusion of the Consistorium the announcement of the Cardinals created by Poppe Benedict, the Canonization of seven Saints on 21st of October 2012. Among the new Saints is the Mindelstette (Diocese of Regensburg) born Anna Schäffer (18. Februar 1882 - 5. Oktober 1925).

Among the new wearers of the purple there are 16 Europeans, four Americans and two Asians. Besides the ten leaders of the Vatican Curial Administration, the Pope created eight Bishops of the important Diocese of New York, Prague, Utrecht, Florence and Hong Kong as well.

One of the purposes of the Cardinals is their participation for a Papal election in Conclave. Only the purple bearers can participate who have still not reached their 80th birthday.

With this the fourth Consistorium in the current Pontificate of Pope Benedict XVI, the number of Cardinals has been increased to 213, among them 125 are potential electors of the Pope. Among these 67 come from Europe, of which 30 are Italians, as well as 22 from Latin and 15 from North America. Numbered among the >>Senate<< of the Church are eleven Africans, nine Asians and one Australian.

The Consitostium was preceeded on Friday by a Papal convened >>Day of Reflection and Prayer<< of the College of Cardinals. It was held under the theme of the New Evaneglization. Besides that there is the >>Year of Faith<<, which begins on the 11th of October, exactly 50 years after the opening of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965).

The Courageous Prelate Georg Was A Prime Candidate for Cardinal

It's a lot more probable that a politically correct German would receive the frayed honor of Cardinal.

(kreuz.net) Prelate Georg May (85)is a courageous Catholic theologians and Apostolic Pronotary.

He was the Ordinary for Canon Law, Civil law and ecclesiastical legal history at the University of Mainz.

A Priest of Breslau

He was born in the lower Sileisian city of Liegnitz, which finds itself since the Societ-Allied Potsdam Conference under temporary Polish control.

After the war he studied Philosophy and Theology.

On the 1st of April 1951 he received holy orders from Bischof Heinrich Wienken (+1961) of Meissen.

He was ordained for the Archdiocese of Breslau and is incardinated there.

A long academic career

In Munich he received a Doctorate cum laude in Theology. After becoming certified on 10. Juni 1957 he taught first in Freising, from 1960 on at the Johannes Gutenberg-University in Mainz.

He held the chair for Canon Law, Civil Law and ecclesiastical legal history from 1960 to 1994.

  A courageous Confessor and Prophet

Prelate May was very active publishing.

He published many canonical, and even works on ecclesiastical, Liturgical works and Church history.

He resides in his teaching activity at the University of Mainz in Budenheim near Mainz. In the year 2011 was named by Pope Benedict XVI as Apostolic Pronotary.

Even in retirement he continues to publish.

Among his non-canonical works he desired especially to write a book about the Catholic Church in the Third Reich.

Prelate May is also known for his criticisms of the Second Vatican Council and his prophetic analyses of the state of the state of the Second Vatican Council.

He is also known as an academic defender of the Old Mass.

He is the more probable candidate

Roman observers think, among other things, that it is much more likely that the German Jesuit Father Josef Becker (84) will be named to Cardinal.

Since September 1977, he has been an adviser of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

He teaches Dogmatic at the Papal University of the Gregorian and was known for his outspoken but dry manner.

Father Becker was a member of the Vatican delegation which met with the Society of St. Pius X.

New Consistory in November?

Edit: According to sacroprofano blog, there is going to be a new Consistory this November. It will take five Bishops to bring the number of voting Cardinals up to the traditional number of 120. Cardinal Julio Terrazas Sandoval will also retire as Primate of Colombia. He writes:

The Pope has made the decision to create new cardinals during a public consistory in November. It would be the fourth of his pontificate. In the Roman Curia. take it for a fact, despite a possible scenario that places the endowment of "princes of the Church" to early 2012. Pope Benedict XVI's last consistory took place in late November 2007 and 2010.

The Great Majority is Liberal: Predictions of Cardinalatial Appointments

A Vaticanist has published a list of the new Cardinals who will be named next week. The Pope continues the tragic tradition: talk Catholic and appoint old Liberals.

[kreuz.net, Vatican] Next Wednesday the Pope will hold a Consistory to reveal the names of new Cardinals.

This is from Vaticanist of the Italian News 'Il Foglio', Paulo Rodari.

The Consistory will be prepared for the feast of Christ the King on the 20th and 21st of November.

There should be more Prelates above 80 among the future Cardinals. They are not able to vote in the next Conclave.

To this group belong the deserving Bavarian Church Historian, Prelate Walter Walter Brandmüller (81), the former, very deserving, Choirmaster of the Sistine Chapel, Prelate Domenico Bartolucci (93) and the earlier President of the Papal Academy for Life, Bishop Elio Sgreccia (82).

All three prelates are personal friends of the Pope.

The College of Cardinals still tips left

According to information from Rodari, the Pope will name as Cardinal the old liberal Mixa-Hunter and Archbishop Reinhold Marx (57) of Munich and Freising. Msgr Marx was also responsible for the sacrifice of the deserving Abbot of Ettal on the Altar of the Media Bosses.

As expected Benedict XVI, will appoint the Directors of the Vatican Dicasteries to Cardinal. They are:

- The Catholic Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, Archbishop Raymond Leo Burke (62) from the United States.

- The old Liberal President of the Papal Office for the Unity of Christians, Archbishop Kurt Koch (60) from Switzerland,

-The old Liberal President of the Papal Office of Cults, Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi (67), [Another Curator of Obscene Art]

- The old Liberal Prefect of the Congregation of the Causes of Saints, Archbishop Angelo Amato (72)

- The neo-Conservative Prefect of the Congregation of Clergy, Archbishop Mauro Piacenza (66), [Not sure why kreuz.net thinks he's bad, he was a protege of Cardinal Siri after all, we'll see]

- The old Liberal President of the Prefecture for Economic Affairs of the Holy See, Archbishop Velasio De Paolis (75).

- The Apostolic Grand Penitentiary, Archbishop Fortunato Baldelli (75).

Further Candidates for the Cardinals Hat are according to Rodari:

Rodari suspects that the Pope supposedly is keeping to the rule that no Archbishop can be made Cardinal if his predecessor is Cardinal and still lives.

For this reason the Archbishops of Mechelen-Brüssel, Prague, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Bogota, Turin or Westminster will go away empty handed.

There the emeritus Archbishop of Munich, Friedrich Cardinal Wetter (82), still lives, could be an excuse, to avoid the scandalous appointment of Archbishop Marx.

According to information from the US=Vaticanist Robert Moynihan the Consistorium could be held over in the coming spring.

The reason: In the end of winter there will be at least another further six or seven seats free, to name new Cardinals for.

But also at the same time Moynihan refers to the clerical tailors of Rome, who can be expected to be "very busy" in the coming weeks.
