New Bishop of Liege Celebrates "Old Mass" After Appointment

(Brussels) On the 31st of May Pope Francis appointed Monsignor Jean-Pierre Delville appointed bishop of Liege, who then celebrated a High Mass few days after his appointment in the Immemorial Mass of All Ages. The new bishop of the diocese, which also includes the territory of the German-speaking community in the area of eastern Belgium, Eupen and St. Vith, has already celebrated the "Old Rite" several times in the as the blog Belgicatho reported.

The consecration of the new bishop will take place on the 14th of July in the Cathedral of Liege. The Bishop was born on the 29th of April, 1961 in Delville in the capital of his diocese. In 1980 he was consecrated as bishop of his home diocese. He succeeds Bishop Aloysius Jousten. Link to katholisches...

Should he start speaking out against the current heresies he'll get my attention.

Ah, it's only the Mass of St. Pius V.. That doesn't mean a thing.

He was being a smarty pants. But the fact is it means that he celebrated the true Mass. A High Mass. And probably the Low Mass a few other times. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Unless this new habit of offering the Traditional Mass is exclusive, it means that he also offers the Prot service. If so then St. Pius V Mass or not...his offering it occasionally means nothing compared to what it could mean. It confuses the uninformed, ungraced Catholic and leads them to think that one is as good as the other and that they are both...Catholic and good. Wrong. It would be like my own priest who looooves the "old Mass" but also loooooves the Novus Ordo and looooves to attempt to defend Vatican II from the pulpit. FAIL. He is so intent on dabbling in everything liturgical that he is also bi-ritual. Yet nothing that he has done has opened his eyes to Medjugorje and so he makes regular trips there.

So whether it is my own priest or this bishop, if the Holy Ghost leads them to Tradition and the REAL Mass they would never touch a Prot service again. But if it is mere novelty, just a "Hey look everybody. I did it! I said the "old Mass" just like the big boys." then it means NOTHING.
